FAQ’s Following The UK Leaving The European Union

During the Brexit transition (as of January 1st 2021) it's likely that delays will occur on all orders being dispatched to destinations within the EU or ROW. Depending on your location and the items ordered, you may need to pay duties and taxes to receive your order. Ohh Deer DO NOT cover customs rates and charges for shipments; some countries have tariff limits allowing the importing of items free of tax and duty. Hopefully the information in this blog can answer any questions regarding how your order may be affected.


Can I still buy from Ohh Deer, Papergang, Artful, Put A Sock In It and Jewel + the Gang?


Yes, we are still continuing to ship to all European and international destinations.


Will my order / subscription cost more?


Answer for ohhdeer.com, Artful and Jewel + the Gang: From 1 January 2021, you may have to pay tax charges such as Customs Duties and VAT when you buy from a UK business. Whether or not you must pay additional charges depends on the value of what you have bought and, in some cases, the rules within your resident territory.


Answer for Papergang and Put a Sock in it: No, as your subscription value is under €22 it is not subject to VAT or Customs Duties unless you are located in Norway or Switzerland. For orders going to Norway or Switzerland there is a customs clearance fee of £25 on all order values.

Are shipping times affected by the UK’s exit from the EU?


Currently, the transition and new rules relating to export is causing disruption to packages exiting the UK and arriving into EU destinations.


The delays being reported will vary based on your location and the courier service delivering the package.


Where possible, we will provide tracking information to you and details of courier updates where we are made aware of substantial delay, but we would advise for you to give up to an extra 10 days than normal for your package to arrive.


We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and hope that this will be a temporary disruption for the transition period only.


I’m paying more now, is this likely to change?


The guidance for export is currently in a transitional phase with firm implications being put into place in June 2021 by the UK and European Union. We are working hard in the background to look at the best possible way to resolve additional charges for our EU customers. This isn’t an easy fix so we appreciate your patience whilst we look to solve this.
