As the world begins to open up again we had the delight of watching a real life BRIT Awards night. With no face masks, no social distancing and maximum fun.
Another remarkable thing about the 2021 BRIT Awards ceremony was the ratio of winners. If you haven’t already been told it was female dominated. From the likes of Newcomer Arlo Parks, to the reinvented Taylor Swift, we saw some of the brightest stars in music shine and haven’t felt prouder in a while.

Dua Lipa came out on top at the end of the evening bagging two awards. Should also sent a strong message to Boris Johnson demanding a fair pay rise for the frontline NHS staff. With it being International Nurse Day this seems more appropriate than ever.
Little Mix picked up the British group award, securing their place as the first all-female group to do so. Five Star and Gorillaz were the last groups that featured women, so we’re looking at a pretty alarming ratio, here.
The BRIT Awards 2021 welcomed an audience of 4,000 people at The O2 arena in London. The indoor ceremony and live show formed part of the Government’s scientific Events Research Programme a huge step forward into a post-Covid world.
2,500 tickets were gifted by the recorded music industry to frontline workers.
It was great to see so many women winning. There’s a long way to go in the music industry, but could be viewed as a good step.
But who am I to give opinions on the matter - I checked in with Fred to see how she felt about the Brit awards 2021:

What a comeback the Brits 2021 was… My favourite parts of the evening were seeing some incredible set designs (Hello Arlo Parks’ Sunflowers <3), big smiles on the faces of all the incredible keyworkers who deserved to finally let their hair down, and the strong women sharing some strong messages! It was a great night for girl power!
