5 BEST Things To Do Mother’s Day 2023

Struggling to figure out what to do with Mum this Mother’s Day? We’ve got you covered! Here’s a list of the 5 BEST things to do this Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day falls on March 19th this year and is a day dedicated to spoiling Mum just as much as she spoiled us growing up. A day to tell her how thankful we are for having such a strong and wonderful lady in our life! And, most importantly, a day to show her just how much we really love her.

That’s why we’ve created a list of the 5 BEST things to do this Mother’s Day, ideas that are guaranteed to put a smile on her face and give that wonderful woman a day she won’t forget.

Take Her Out For a Meal!

Why not take this special lady out for a lovely meal somewhere, just you and her. I guarantee there’s nothing more she’d want than some quality time with her pride and joy! Whether it's a fancy little restaurant or a cutesy café, treat her to some good food because, well, who doesn’t love food? You two will get to sit together, have a catch up (maybe even a good old fashioned gossip) and eat! Sounds good to us!

Now, I should say that this option is generally a fabulous idea if you plan ahead enough before but if you’ve left it a bit too late it can either get a little crowded or completely booked out. Don’t worry, though! There’s plenty of other wonderful plans on this list that might take your fancy.

Go to the Cinema

If you guys are anything like me and my Mumma - you love cinema dates! It’s perfect. You can buy all her favourite snacks, maybe even go out for dinner beforehand. It’s her special day, so you can adapt it however you’d like, or whichever way would make your Mum happiest!

There’s some great stuff arriving in cinemas, just in time for Mother’s Day. The spooky mamas out there will be especially excited this March 19th, with incredible films like Pearl and Scream 6 coming out, my Mum’s personal favourite franchise so it looks like I’m set! Of course, there’s also a few options for those that aren’t too keen on horrors such as heartfelt movies like Allelujah and fun family hero films like Shazam!

The cinema is perfect for those who don’t like to book too far in advance and are perhaps a little more spontaneous. Of course, the cinema is a little more of an unconventional suggestion too and, so, it’s likely it won’t be fully booked out.

Shopping Trip

There is nothing like a shopping trip, it's ideal for quality bonding time and super fun! Whether you two like charity shopping together, bougie high-street shopping or just having a nosey around, a trip like this always lands well. Maybe whilst you’re at it, you can pick up anything she sets her eyes on because, let's face it, the wonderful woman who gave you life most definitely deserves it!

Perhaps you can even combine this with our idea from earlier and take her to a little café and buy her a nice cup of tea and a piece of cake. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again - this is the day to spoil her rotten!

See a Show

Another suggestion that requires some booking in advance, why not take her to see a show? There is not a single woman I know, including myself, that doesn’t like going to the theatre. There’s nothing like dressing up, going to the bar and generally feeling like you’re living life in luxury for the night!

This just so happens to be my gift for my lovely mother this year, in fact, we’re seeing Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (how exciting!). Of course, I can’t give you too many ideas as to what exactly you can see but it's definitely worth giving your nearest theatre’s website a visit and seeing what’s on. It’ll certainly make a memorable Mother’s Day!

Cook Her a Homemade Meal!

Money right now is a real struggle, we get that. And that’s exactly why we’ve saved both our best and cheapest option ‘till last! Why not invite her over and make her a nice dinner? Return the favor of all those meals she cooked for you growing up. Let’s be totally real, nothing beats a mother’s cooking but it truly is the thought that counts and this action is bound to leave her feeling the most loved and appreciated she’s ever felt! Cook her favourite meal, look up recipes online if you need to! Make a big deal of it. It’s what she deserves.
