Powerful Ways to Stay Positive

We’re living in challenging and changing times, and now, more than ever, we need to look after ourselves, and our mental wellbeing.

Here at Ohh Deer, we like to focus on the positive - whether that be the sun shining, or simply a funny card that made us smile. Below, we’ve put together our top tips on staying positive during this time, with a few pointers on how you can look after yourself along the way.

Positive Affirmations

Affirmations are statements that help to challenge your negative thoughts, and are a great way to reduce the effects of stress. By repeating them often, they can help to empower your self esteem.

To Do Lists

Sometimes your brain can feel overcrowded with tasks that you need to fulfill or chores that need to be done,and when your brain feels overwhelmed, you’re unlikely to feel your best. Having a physical to do list to jot all of those thoughts on is a great way to free up your headspace for bigger/better things.


Laughter truly is the best medicine, and sometimes a little bit of laughter is all it takes to lighten your mood. And what better way to make yourself laugh than by looking at funny memes on the internet, or buying something for your office desk to cheer you up everyday.

Take It Slow

If anything, lockdown has taught us to take life a bit slower, and this is something we should all remember going forward. Sometimes, life can get a little hectic, but it’s important to take a step back and remember what makes us happy. Not feeling creative and prefer to nap? Do it. Want to work from home in your pjs and fluffy slippers? Yes please! Dropping the vacuuming in favour of ordering pizza and watching a film? Absolutely! Listen to your gut and take that time for yourself if and when you need it.
